This combination made the business very attractive to investors and potential employees that joined the company in spite of having a horrible working environment, low wages and difficult working conditions in comparison with competitors. Amazon vision was really ambitious with a strong leader really committed to making it happen. This strong vision was shared most of the time by his team.

Jeff Bezos had a long term vision for the business, this changed several times, but he always had a long term vision.Recently I had the opportunity to read the book “The Everything Store: Jeff Bezos and the Age of Amazon”, and I would like to share with you some of my observations: As a former Amazon shares owner I enjoyed more than decent returns, although I did not have the opportunity to enjoy or suffer any of those 100%+ jump or slumps.īut little I knew from internal perspective apart from a lot of negative press mostly about poor working conditions for Amazon employees everywhere the company operated. I admire how the company has transformed the retail landscape in every country the it has started operations, bringing great benefits to customers, not necessarily only in terms of pricing but in convenience. I have been a loyal Amazon client pretty much since the company started operating in the nineties, following its evolution from selling traditional books to selling almost everything I needed.
